![]() Elder Moore completed High School and began his career in the United States Marine Corps in 1966. Elder Moore was called into the ministry on June 9, 1985, where he preached his trial sermon, “The Mercy of God”. He became an ordained Elder in August 1989. Elder Moore is a graduate of Charles Harrison Mason University, where he majored in Theology and Bible Teaching. Elder Moore is the Pastor and Founder of Greater Refuge Ministries, Inc., Church of God in Christ. He began this ministry on April 15, 1990, in the basement of his home with just three members. God sent the increase, and within two months the basement could not seat all the people. God blessed, people were saved, delivered and set free, and the Holy Ghost filled the place. In July 1991, God blessed Elder Moore and the Greater Refuge family to relocate to 7929 Old Branch Avenue in Clinton, Maryland. Here Elder Moore had a vision of building a new church home for Greater Refuge on the 5 + acreage of property which had already been purchased and paid off. Construction began in August 2003 after years of planning, obtaining permits, and saving funds. Official occupancy of the new facility was obtained in January 2005. There are too many working auxiliaries in the ministries to name but one he is most proud of is Saturday night Church recently instituted. God favored Elder Moore to be the second COGIC Pastor in the Washington Metropolitan Area to build a church from the ground up in the last 40 years. History was made as God allowed him to be the first COGIC Pastor to preach in the church He blessed him to build. To God Be The Glory! In January 2007 Elder Moore retired from his Federal Civil job after 34 years. He now works in the ministry full time taking it to another level with the help of the Lord. Elder Moore is the husband of one wife, Evangelist Donna Moore who is the Co-Pastor. He has two sons, Devaughan W-R and Darnell M. Moore, which both work in the ministry. He is a man who has a concern for souls and compassion for people. Most of all he is saved, sanctified, Holy Ghost filled, and a man after God’s own heart. |
